My husband told me I need to remove this image because the location of the star above my head is very silly :-) He is right, it looks hideous. But perhaps it’s there for a reason. I would like us all to be “lichtpuntjes” in this big world. A “lichtpuntje” is a small light that glimmers / a small ray of light.
J.K. Rowling wrote in one of her Harry Potter books:
“We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.”
I could not agree more. We decide where we put our focus. What we emphasise. We decide what wolf we feed.
Every one of us can bring a little light to this world. We can help one another to be our very best self. We don’t all need to become hero’s. Often the simplest of things can have a great impact.
Like for instance an embrace. I absolutely believe in the enormous power of feeling embraced. If we can make each other feel good enough, feel worthy, feel beautiful than we can shine.
So often, it’s said we have to start with ourselves. This can certainly be argued. But isn’t it a bit like with the chicken and egg? The vicious circle of life, with no end and no beginning. What I like so much about an embrace, is its immediate reciprocity. You can’t give a hug without getting a hug :)
This blog is my personal story, my weblog, journal, chronicle you name it. My blog is not here to give you advice. I am not a teacher. I am afraid I am not a writer either. Yet you have to start where you start.
My blog is for people that I would call realistic idealists.
Are you keen to spread happiness in this world?
Leave a little brightness wherever you go?
Be more conscious about the footprints you leave every day?
Then please join me.
Steve Jobs said: “the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
I would like us all to get entirely bonkers!
