My husband told me I need to remove this image because the location of the star above my head is very silly :-) He is right, it looks hideous. But perhaps it’s there for a reason. I would like us all to be “lichtpuntjes” in this big world. A “lichtpuntje” is a small light that glimmers / a small ray of light.
J.K. Rowling wrote in one of her Harry Potter books:
“We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.”
I could not agree more. We decide where we put our focus. What we emphasise. We decide what wolf we feed.
Every one of us can bring a little light to this world. We can help one another to be our very best self. We don’t all need to become hero’s. Often the simplest of things can have a great impact.
Like for instance an embrace. I absolutely believe in the enormous power of feeling embraced. If we can make each other feel good enough, feel worthy, feel beautiful than we can shine.
So often, it’s said we have to start with ourselves. This can certainly be argued. But isn’t it a bit like with the chicken and egg? The vicious circle of life, with no end and no beginning. What I like so much about an embrace, is its immediate reciprocity. You can’t give a hug without getting a hug :)

I’m looking forward to participating in your “blialogue” – a phrase I just coined, I think. It will be fun – and probably quite enlightening – to go a bit “bonkers” with you. Indeed, it would be wonderful if people felt free to do that at will in the workplace, but it requires a couple of things that we humans struggle with – trust and courage. Perhaps we can use this forum to help one another reinforce those qualities in our day-to-day work lives.

Thanks Les. A blog dialogue, a blialogue, wow very creative right there! So this is my first blialogue, still very new to this. If we can indeed instill more trust and courage that would be most wonderful. Embracing someone wholeheartedly is a great step in the right direction.

Im Leben ist es wie in der Fotografie, der Fokus auf das was wichtig ist, macht das Leben erst richtig lebenswert. Es ist wahnsinnig schön was man alles erlebt, wenn man sich nur auf das konzentriert was einen glücklich macht.
