Don’t forget to fly

By titia.maas@web.de

During my week in San Francisco I slept approximately 15 hours in one entire week. It wasn’t just the jet lag.  All the voices in my head just couldn’t stop talking to each other.

Yet I have never been able to sleep on a long haul flight. I usually watch 6-7 movies before arriving back in Germany.

This time around I want to say a big thank you to Lufthansa, for an absolutely captivating in-flight program.

A selection of the things I ended up watching:

  • Lucy – Very entertaining. Wikipedia states some critics called it “Enthusiastically silly”. I love everything that is enthusiastic and silly. So an excellent movie to me.
  • On the topic of enthusiastic and silly; I watched one of those great Bollywood movies. I am afraid I forgot the name but as usual it got me sobbing in a plane full of sleeping people :-)
  • Pina Bausch “Dance, Dance Otherwise we are lost!”  Wow!!!! When images make you feel your imagination. Emotions that went deep into my stomach. Beautiful!
  • Last but not least: The Economics of Happiness  What a great documentary! Going forward I will buy more locally. I promise not to forget…Made me realize again how complex our economy is.

And even though by the time I arrived home I really was exhausted – I strangely felt good. Somehow I knew already right there and then that something good, something exciting was just around the corner…
